In traditional Chinese culture, the selection of an Auspicious Date for important Personal and Business activities has long been considered essential to ensuring good outcomes. There is now strong interest in this practice in the West. While ultimately success depends on our own willingness to succeed, abilities and hard work, starting an activity on a supportive day can help things run smoothly on the day and also create the potential for ongoing success. We use various cycles of energy or Qi to choose timing that is in harmony with specific activities and with the people who will engage in them. I can choose dates for the following events:
  • Marriage
  • Moving home
  • Starting construction or major renovations
  • Signing an important contract
  • Launching a business
  • Engaging in an important and/or difficult negotiation
  • Non-urgent medical procedures
Dates are selected on the basis of :
  • The energies of particular days
  • The activity you are planning and
  • The personal energy map of the main participants*.
While sorting out the generally good dates from the generally bad dates is relatively straightforward, there is an art to choosing dates for specific purposes and then further work required to personalise dates. With so many factors to take into account, finding a really good day matched to a specific activity and specific people can be difficult. It definitely helps if you can be flexible with your time-frame. I will choose dates within a two-month window but will of course shorten this if your time-frame is more urgent. The longer you give me, the more likely I can find a really good day or even a choice of days. Where there is more than one suitable day, I will provide all the dates and rank them in order of suitability (with reasons for the ranking). Once I have found suitable dates, I will also suggest the most auspicious two-hour period for the activity. (This may not help if it turns out to be the middle of the night! Don't worry though, you will still benefit from the auspicious day.) * for marriage, this includes both parties; for house moving, two adult owners are included; most other date selections would typically be for just one party.
